AAMOA Tribute: New Works by Black Composers

The Afro‐American Music Opportunities Association (AAMOA) was founded with the mission of providing performance opportunities for Black musicians as well as music education and showcasing the works of Black composers.

In the 1970s, the AAMOA and the pioneering conductor Paul Freeman recorded the Black Composers Series, 9 albums released by Columbia Records spotlighting the compositions of Black composers spanning the 18th century to composers living at the time the albums were recorded.

Now, Fulcrum Point AuxIn and Discoveries co-curator Angel Bat Dawid honors this groundbreaking series and the mission of the AAMOA by presenting three new works from young composers Anaiet, Julian Terrell Otis, and Isaiah Collier:
